Sugar-white sands, super-cities, and street food
Two of the world’s great melting-pot cultures, Malaysia and Singapore make a delicious duo for this 8-day adventure through Southeast Asia. From palm studded shorelines to quaint colonial towns, and dynamic modern cities, the diversity of this region is unsurpassed. Add to that a dazzling array of cuisines, languages, and biodiversity and you’ve got the recipe for a dream trip. Kick off with lazy beach days on the idyllic tropical island of Langkawi, where the jungle spills down to silvery sands. Explore Georgetown’s ancient temples and vibrant street art, and the old-world charm of Ipoh, and the cave temples and shimmering skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur. Finish up with a night in futuristic Singapore, with street food and Singapore slings all around.
Day 1: Lovely Langkawi
Arrive in the tropical island of Langkawi. Boasting silky silver sands, jungle-cloaked valleys, and weird and wonderful wildlife, it's an idyllic place to start our trip. Relax by the pool, dive into the warm ocean, or just kick back in an oceanfront bar with a glass of something cold in hand.
Day 2: Beach Day
Langkawi was made for beach days. Starfish in the warm, turquoise waters, check out the colourful underwater world with a snorkel, or paddle through the Kilim Geoforest Park on an optional kayak excursion. Tonight, make like the 1% with an optional sunset dinner cruise on a luxury catamaran.
Day 3: Temples & Street Art
Leave Langkawi behind, and head to Penang, where our destination is picturesque Georgetown. Explore the charming colonial streets on a unique combo tour of the city's most stunning temples and striking street art. This evening, treat your tastebuds to some of Penang's spicy street food.
Day 4: Penang Free Day
Explore the enchanting island of Penang on two wheels today with an optional bike tour. With white sand beaches, a soaring, mountainous heart, and colourful heritage houses, it's as scenic as it gets. Come sundown, you'll have worked up an appetite for more mouth-watering Malay food.
Day 5: Ipoh & Kuala Lumpur
Head to Kuala Lumpur, with a stop at Ipoh. Marrying old world charm with boutique cafes, colourful street art, and some of the best food in the country, it's a great place to break the journey. Breathe the cool, highland air and sample some local delicacies before continuing to the high-rise capital.
Day 6: Culture & Caves
Discover Kuala Lumpur's historic monuments, bustling markets, and street food joints on a walking tour with a KL native. You'll go where most tourists don't, seeing secret spots, and dining on hokkien mee noodles in a local eatery. Round off your day with an optional visit to the epic Batu Caves
Day 7: Fly to Singapore
Take the short flight to humid, hyper-modern Singapore. Spend the rest of the day exploring its high-end retail, botanic gardens, and superb street food. It's our last night together so line up the Singapore slings and toast to the amazing adventure you've shared.
Day 8: So Long Singapore
Say your goodbyes after breakfast and head home or continue your travels in Asia. Better start planning next year's trip!
