Accommodation & Meals

Accommodation

We’ve included all your accommodation on this trip. As well as stylish, well-appointed hotels in Cape Town and Johannesburg, you’ll stay in the heart of Africa’s epic landscapes with rustic lodges and safari tents on the borders of Kruger and Chobe National Parks, and an explorers’ village or hotel within spraying distance of Victoria Falls.

Please note: From January to June, you’ll be staying in a waterfront hotel in Victoria Falls, with a riverside deck and bar. From July to December, you’ll stay in an explorers’ village, just 400m from the falls. Also, due to the rainy season, overnight camping in Chobe is not available from October to March. Instead, you’ll spend two nights in Chobe at a lodge.

Lots of our travellers are solo travellers, so when you book with us, we’ll pair you up with a like-minded roommate of the same sex. Our trips are great for couples or friends as well - just let us know you’re together, so we can be sure to put you in the same room.

The above information is only intended to be used as a guide, giving you a flavour of some of our accommodation providers, and the style of accommodation you may be staying in. Please note that all nights are subject to change.

Meals

10 breakfasts and 1 dinner are included on this trip. The rest of the time you’ll have the freedom to eat wherever and whenever you like.

From braai to biltong, Southern Africa is as much a destination for foodies as it is for thrill seekers and wildlife lovers. A colonial past has made its mark on the region’s food, and you’ll find a blend of cultural influences from Dutch and German to Indonesian. Meat is at the heart of many traditional dishes from hearty stews to rich curries. These can feature everything from familiar favourites like chicken and beef, to more exotic fayre such as ostrich, impala, and even crocodile. That said, veggies are well catered for these days as well. Our top tips? Don’t miss the bobotie.
