This 7 day trip includes a 4 day guided hike along the trail, camping equipment and the services of local guides and porters. Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco
Fly into Cusco and make your way from the airport to your starting accommodation in the city. You'll meet the rest of your group and your tour leader this evening.

Day 2: Ollantaytambo
Depart Cusco and journey north towards the vast slopes of the Sacred Valley. Gain an insight into local culture at a women's weaving project and pottery-making workshop.

Day 3: Inca Trail begins
Hike along pleasant streams and crumbling Incan ruins as you journey into the mountains. Settle into camp this evening and bask in your beautiful natural surroundings.

Day 4: Inca Trail
A steep climb this morning as you tackle the slopes of Dead Woman's Pass. You'll hit the highest point of the trek (13, 769ft above sea level) and face the uncompromising Andean conditions.

Day 5: Inca Trail
Traverse two mountain passes and watch for the gleaming snow-capped peak of Cordillera Vilcabamba. Make camp by the Phuyupatamarca or Wiñay Wayna ruins.

Day 6: Machu Picchu
Rise early and hike to the Sun Gate for sunrise. Delve into the ruins themselves on a guided tour before travelling back to Cusco. Toast your incredible achievement this evening with your group.

You should fly into Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco on day 1 of the trip. You will then need to make your own way to your accommodation in the city by minibus or taxi. The trip ends on day 7 in Cusco.
