What you get
Day 1: Fly into Delhi
Make your way to your stylish New Delhi hotel through streets filled with mopeds, rickshaws, cows and the occasional monkey! Meet your group tonight and try some of that famous Indian cuisine.
Day 2: Delhi & Varanasi
Take two guided temple tours today and visit a mass kitchen where the Sikhs feed thousands for free every day. Tonight, travel to Varanasi by sleeper train.
Day 3: Varanasi
From the maze-like Old City to the crowded banks of the Ganges, the city is sensory overload. Take a sunset cruise, with a Brahmin fire ceremony. Stay overnight at a local homestay.
Day 4: Agra
Take a short flight to Agra. Tuk tuks will speed you to a tranquil garden south of the Taj Mahal, where you'll see the sun set over the magnificent structure, away from the crowds.
Day 5: Agra & Jaipur
The Taj Mahal never disappoints. Watch the sun come up over its beautiful marble domes and take a guided tour of the building. Jump on a train to Jaipur where you'll watch a Bollywood movie before bedding down in your heritage hotel.
Day 6: Jaipur
Colourful Jaipur is the splendours of the past. Take a guided orientation walk, meet the market traders, visit the Palace of the Winds, and take a tuk tuk to Monkey Temple. Enjoy some free time in the Pink City this afternoon.
Day 7: Travel to Pushkar
Bus it to Pushkar, a lakeside town with a hippy vibe. Explore the ghats, temples and buzzing bazaars and receive a blessing from a local Brahmin on the lake. Grab a lassi from a streetside cafe and head to your desert glamp-site.
Day 8: Pushkar
Chill out or do some yoga on the deck of the camp infinity pool this morning. Later wander the winding streets of Pushkar or just perch on the ghats and watch the world go by. Head back to camp for a cooking demonstration and an incredible sunset camel safari.
Day 9: Travel to Jodhpur
A jumble of indigo buildings in a labyrinth of medieval streets, the Blue City is like stepping back in time. Hop off the train and check into your city centre Haveli (traditional, highly decorative residences).
Day 10: Jodhpur
Enjoy a free morning in Jodhpur. This afternoon we'll walk to the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, check out the Jodhpur Step Well, and visit the Clock Tower Market for some famous saffron lassi and samosas.
Day 11: Travel to Udaipur
With romantic palaces, shimmering lakes and ornately decorated havelis, Udaipur is one of the most beautiful cities in India. Take a guided walk through the Old Town and a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola before dinner in one of our favourite rooftop restaurants.
Day 12: Udaipur Villages
Get a glimpse at rural life today with a bike ride through some typical Indian villages. Visit temples and schools in the village and chat to the friendly locals. Take the overnight train to Delhi.
Day 13: Delhi
Enjoy the hustle and bustle of Delhi at your own pace today. Our local guide will take you on a mouth-watering food tour of the Old City this evening before a final night in the bars with your travel family.
Day 14: Depart
Your amazing Indian experience comes to an end today. Head home or enjoy some more of this fascinating country.
Accommodation & Meals
This trip includes 13 nights’ accommodation in a carefully selected mix of hotels and boutique hideaways. Two of these nights will be on comfortable sleeper trains. We only send our travellers to locations that we love, so you can rest assured that you’ll be staying somewhere special.
On day 3, you’ll have a real cultural experience at a homestay in Varanasi, and on days 7 and 8 you’ll be staying in a boutique desert campsite with an infinity pool.
The rest of the accommodation is in a selection of decadent hotels and havelis, some with sleek modern design and others with real heritage credentials.
Rooms on this trip are twin or double share with en-suite facilities (apart from the night spent in a homestay, which is multi-share) and feature A/C and WiFi.
We’ll provide you with 13 breakfasts and 6 dinners on this tour. You’ll have the freedom to eat wherever you like for the rest of the time. It’s a great opportunity to sample the incredible cuisine of India.

Arrive at any time into Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) on day 1 and make your way to your hotel in the heart of New Delhi. If you would prefer a private transfer to be arranged in advance, we can book one for you (extra cost) with the Women on Wheels initiative who provides training and resources to disadvantaged local women and enables them to become self-sustaining professional drivers. Please speak to a travel advisor for more information. The trip ends in New Delhi on day 14, you can depart at any time.
