Discover the diversity of western Africa on this unforgettable 9 day trip. From the sizzling savannahs of the Serengeti to the powdery white-sand beaches of Zanzibar, you’ll delve into a range of landscapes and cultures. Drive through vast grasslands, where elephants and buffalo roam, explore local villages and hit the gorgeous beaches of Jambiani. Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Tanzania
Fly into Arusha today and make your way from the airport to your starting accommodation in the city. You'll meet the rest of your group and your tour leader at a welcome meeting this evening.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
Journey west towards the shimmering grasslands and sun-blasted plains of the Serengeti. Head into the National Park on a safari and spend the night in a basic bush camp.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Drive through Serengeti National Park in a safari vehicle and watch the early morning sun lick across the savannah. Later, head to the mighty Ngorongoro Crater and make camp on the rim.
Day 4: Tribal Village
Visit a local village and enjoy a cultural walk where you'll learn about the 120 different tribes that live here. Then, sit down to a traditional meal with a local family.
Day 5: Dar es Salaam
Embark on the long journey southeast towards the coast. Your destination is Dar es Salaam, a bustling coastal port and the gateway to Zanzibar.
Day 6: Stone Town
Catch a ferry and cross the glittering Indian Ocean to Zanzibar. Get to know the ancient streets of Stone Town on an orientation walk. Hunt down the history or just soak up the vibe.
Day 7: Jambiani
Transfer to the spectacular coastal landscapes of Jambiani. Here the sands are soft and white, and the sea is an ever-shimmering turquoise. Pick a spot on the beach and enjoy.
Day 8: Jambiani
A full day in this little slice of paradise. Spend the day sipping cocktails on the beach or head underwater and snorkel up close to tropical fish.
Day 9: Stone Town
Return to Stone Town, where your tour ends in the late morning. You are now free to head to the airport or stick around for more independent exploration.

Extra information
You should fly into Arusha on day 1 of your itinerary. You will need to make your own way from the airport to your starting accommodation. The trip ends back in Stone Town on Zanzibar on day 9. If you plan to depart on day 9, do not book a flight that departs before 2:30pm to allow time for transfer and check-in.
