Itinerary

Day 1: Auckland to Rotorua
Kia ora! Discover the magical Waitomo Caves, lit up by a galaxy of glow worms. Spend the night in a Maori meeting house. Learn the Haka and watch a traditional Poi dance.

Day 2: Rotorua
Rotorua is famous for its bubbling sulphurous waters and pungent odour. Spend the day in the local mud baths, try zorbing, or visit the famous Hobbiton movie set.

Day 3: Tongariro National Park
Get ready for an awe-inspiring landscape forged by fire and ice. See the majestic Huka Falls and Lake Taupo, the largest in NZ!

Day 4: Tongariro National Park
Delve into the dramatic volcanic landscapes of the Park. For the ultimate experience, embark on the epic 8-hour Tongariro Crossing - one of the best short hikes in the world.

Day 5: Wellington
NZ's capital is known for its artsy, hipster vibes. After a tour of the city, including Mt Victoria, you're free to explore the city.

Day 6: Wellington
Another day in one of the coolest cities in the world. Check out the craft-beer pubs, lovely harbour, Te Papa Museum and the Weta Workshop for another dose of Middle Earth.

Day 7: South Island
Cruise across the Cook Strait to the South Island. Stop at a family-run vineyard for a tasting of the famous NZ Sauvignon before reaching Nelson where we'll enjoy a BBQ Kiwi-style!

Day 8: Nelson
Enjoy the funky cafes and art galleries of lovely Nelson today. It's also the perfect jump-off point for discovering the coastal paradise of Abel Tasman National Park.

Day 9: Kaikoura
Travel to cutesy Kaikoura. See the seals at Ohau point, hike the peninsula trail and eat some super-fresh crayfish. This afternoon, you can choose to swim with dolphins!

Day 10: Christchurch
Explore the street art, quirky cafes, independent boutiques and cutting-edge architecture of the city today as well as some of the hipster bars after the sun goes down.

Day 11: Glaciers and Lakes
Go from sipping lattes in the city to the wintery wonder of Fox Glacier. Stop at Lake Matheson en route for that killer Insta-shot of snowy peaks reflected in the still water.

Day 12: Fox Glacier
Explore the epic Glacier today. Will you do a heli-hike or take a scenic flight? Then travel to Queenstown. If you didn't get your fill of the cold stuff already, check out the ice bar!

Day 13: Queenstown
Whether it be jet boating, sky diving, canyon swinging, or just sitting at a bar and relaxing, there's something for everyone in this adrenaline-pumping town.

Day 14: Milford Sound Trip
Journey to Fjordland, a beautiful area of soaring cliffs, waterfalls, deep blue sea and lazing seal colonies. Don't forget your camera for today's jaw-dropping cruise.

Day 15: Queenstown
It's your last day in Queenstown so make the most of it! Get your heart pumping with some adrenaline-fuelled antics and head out for a big one in the city tonight.

Day 16: Lake Ohau
Explore the Arrow River on a mountain bike and imagine gold panning settlers in the shallows. Spend the evening on the placid shores of Lake Ohau, surrounded by breath-taking mountain scenery.

Day 17: Christchurch
Check out the glittering blue waters of Lake Tekapo, then enjoy an afternoon in funky Christchurch before saying your goodbyes. Safe travels!

Your tour begins in Auckland at 7:30am on day 1. Due to this early start, we recommend you fly into Auckland at least the day before and book an extra night of accommodation in the city. We can help you organise this. The tour ends at approximately 6pm in Christchurch on day 17. Due to this late finish, we recommend spending an extra night in the city and flying out the next day.
