Embark on a travel experience that is as varied as Central America itself on this 32 day trip. Venture through dense rainforests, explore ancient Mayan civilisations and stroll along the sandy shores of the Caribbean coast. Starting in Mexico, you’ll travel through 5 other Central American countries over 32 days, including Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica. You’ll enjoy a host of unique included activities, plus plenty of free time to do your own thing. The best of both worlds.
What you get
Days 1-2: Playa del Carmen
Arrive into Cancún airport and make your way to your starting accommodation in Playa del Carmen. Enjoy a free day dedicated to these white sands and shady palm trees.
Days 3-5: Caye Caulker
Cross the border into Belize and transfer to the tiny island of Caye Caulker. Surrounded by sparkling azure waters and fringed with glorious white sand beaches, this is a little slice of heaven.
Days 6-7: San Ignacio
Journey inland to San Ignacio. Stop off at a local pottery co-operative that supports women in learning new skills and earning an income.
Day 8: Flores
Cross the border into Guatemala. Carve a passage through the northern jungles and arrive at the foot of the Tikal ruins for a guided tour. Continue south to Flores, an island town on Lake Petén Itzá.
Days 9-10: Rio Dulce
Embark on a day of travelling through the Guatemalan countryside. You'll spend the night in Rio Dulce, a small town on the banks of the lake that literally translates as 'sweet river'.
Days 11-12: Antigua Guatemala
Travel south to the colourful colonial streets of Antigua. Wander through these beautiful cobbled streets or get lost in the rhythm and passion of Salsa at an optional class.
Day 13-15: Lake Atitlán
Journey through the Guatemalan highlands to Lake Atitlán. Strike out across the lake meet a local community on the northwest shore.
Day 16: Antigua Guatemala
Enjoy a free day in Antigua Guatemala. Soothe your travel-weary muscles with an optional Mayan massage or venture into the hills on a bicycle tour.
Days 17-18: Copán
Journey east towards the border and cross into Honduras. Your destination is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Copán, which is home to some of the most important Mayan ruins on the planet.
Days 19-20: Suchitoto
Next stop: El Salvador and the colonial surroundings of Suchitoto. It's a long travel day, so sit back, relax and watch the world passing by your window.
Days 21-22: Concepción de Ataco
Travel through the mountains along the picturesque Ruta de las Flores (Route of Flowers). Arrive in Concepción de Ataco, a beautiful town of artisans and colourful painted walls.
Days 23-24: Playa El Palmarcito
Discover the sweeping coastline of Playa El Palmarcito today. The waves here are fantastic so make sure to grab a board and try your hand at surfing. Tonight, prepare for a truly exquisite sunset.
Days 25-26: Monteverde
Board a flight across to Costa Rica and delve into the mist-soaked cloud forest of Monteverde.
Days 27-28: La Fortuna
Tear across bumpy roads to the shores of Lake Arenal. Transfer across the water by boat and then continue the journey to La Fortuna, which lies in the shadow of the mighty Arenal Volcano.
Days 29-30: San Carlos
Travel to the rainforest in San Carlos, home of the Coope San Juan community. You'll spend the night with a local family, where you can practice some Spanish and learn to prepare local food.
Days 31-32: San José
Say farewell to the Coope San Juan community and journey through the mountains towards the capital of Costa Rica: San José. Your tour ends here on day 32.

You should arrive into Cancún International Airport, Mexico on day 1 of this trip. You will need to make your own way from the airport to your starting accommodation in Playa del Carmen. Buses depart regularly from the airport, and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes. The trip ends in San José, Costa Rica on day 32.
